Maybelline SuperStay 24™ 2-Step Lipcolor

I received several colors of Maybelline SuperStay 24™ 2-Step Lipcolor for review.  Have you tried this product?  I can see a need for super stay lip color, when you're at work you don't want to keep re-applying your lipstick, and really, who wants to be continually looking in a mirror on a date wondering how your lips are looking?  How about when you take a drink and leave your lip print on the glass?  I really don't like it when guests do that to me, it can be quite difficult to remove the waxy print, and to have a lip print of someone staring at me when I open my cupboard door can be a bit unnerving.

So, my thoughts on the product?  My daughter and I both tried it out.  It was in the evening and we quite honestly had no need for lipstick what-so-ever, but wanted to have a little fun!  My daughter put on a deep red, which looked terrible on her, just not her color, I used a lighter color which actually did suit me.  This lip stick has a 2 part process, once the color dries, you apply a gloss which really makes it look nice and finished.  Here's the scoop.  Once mine was dry I brushed my teeth and took a drink of water, not typically what you would do right after applying lipstick, but it was bedtime!  Anyway, the lip color did not budge and did not leave any prints on the glass, the only part that does not stay on is the gloss.

On to my daughter and her brilliantly red lips.....like mine, didn't come off, only in her case, it really should have.  This is the down side to 24 hr. lip color, it takes a steel wool pad or a grinder to actually remove it....not really, but after scrubbing and scrubbing her lips my daughter was able to turn her lips to a bit of a lighter shade and said they felt rather raw.  Upon waking in the morning both of us still had lips that looked as if we had just applied the lipstick, so it does live up to its name!

I would recommend this product for those of you who love to wear lipstick but don't love reapplying it throughout the day, just be sure to pick a color you like, and don't wait to try it out until you're walking out the door, because if you don't like it, you're stuck with it!  Now, there may be a secret to removing it, but if there is, I'm not aware of it!  Oh, I do like the fact that it doesn't have that 'lipstick' taste, and it seems as though the darker colors are a bit stickier than the light, but once it dries there is no difference!

**I received samples of Maybelline SuperStay 24 2-Step Lipcolor from BzzAgent for review, I was not compensated in any other way for my honest opinion.

  1. This is great stuff! Just be sure to choose a color you like....for fair skinned people don't choose deep darkish/brown red! It looks terrible on us, and won't come off for quite a while! Choose a pinker or brighter red! Great review!
