**Here's a birthday story from my past: One year, I was 8 or so, we had a bunch of people at our house after church, my mom had a kinds of treats on the table, everyone assumed it was for my birthday and sang Happy Birthday to me. I was so embarrassed that I ran from the room, and went upstairs and hid out in my bedroom until everyone left! Needless to say, I'm not shy anymore!
I follow your blog via GFC. The best birthday I had was actually this past one in which I had all three of my boys (ages 5,3, and 1) celebrate with me by surprising me with breakfast in bed. What mom wouldn't love that type of surprise :)

ReplyDeleteI am a GFC follower. My best birthday was this year (age 31), as I spent it with our 4 month old daughter, Savannah. The reason it was so special was that I had cancer 2 years ago and they didn't think I would be able to have children. She is a miracle baby, and I was glad to be able to spend this special day with her.

I am a gfc follower. My worst birthday ever, was my 12th birthday. My mother did nothing for it, and honestly completely forgot it until the last minute. She went out and got me this really ugly polyester pink striped housedress. The funny thing is, years later I watched the Roseanne show, and her kids got her the exact same thing for mothers day. I at least got a laugh out of it. I am a gfc follower.

Their train got stopped by an accident on the train ahead of them. My husband had to Drive 3 hours to go get them. When they finally made it here it was one of the best birthdays

ReplyDeleteI follow on gfc as jhb. My family threw me a surprise birthday party when I was sixteen. I feel bad now, but I was so embarrassed that my mom had prepared party favors for the guests (like a little kids party) that I told her not to give them out.

ReplyDeleteI think my favorite birthday memory is from when I lived in Illinois, I was about 5. My grandpaw gave me the most adorable little red petticoat (I was very into dancing and twirling), and my sister gave me a big blue hat. Drama Queen that I was, I was in HEAVEN!!

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how old I was, only that I was very young, but my first memory of a birthday is sitting outside on the verandah of the house I grew up in with family around me, then my parents brought out an icecream cake in the shape of a clown's head. I thought it was amazing, and I can still remember now how happy it made me.

I follow on GFC and my worst birthday story happened on my 12th birthday. We had just meved to Denver and I had no friends yet, so my mom (who was working 2 jobs while my dad was in law school ans also working) took the day off and made my favorite dinner and treid to make it a really nice day for me. However, when I got home from school, she asked me to take out the trash. I did, but mom neglected to tell me that there was broken glass in it, and I was swinging the bag as I walked to the dumpster. I sliced my leg open really badly and spend the rest of the day/evening in the ER.

I follow with GFC. My grandma had been hinting around for weeks leading up to my 7th birthday that a clown would be really fun. I thought I was WAY too old for such a thing and not so nicely made it clear that I didn't want one. With the best intentions, my grandmother got the clown anyway and I ended up hiding under the pool table in anger. Not one of my finer moments.

ReplyDeleteMy most wonderful birthday story is not mine but my sons. He was born 11 years ago this Saturday on Christmas Day. I was only 35 weeks pregnant when my water broke while putting my oldest daughter's Christmas presents under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. He was born healthy and strong early Christmas morning at 5 lbs 3 oz and was able to come home after only 5 days in the hospital. Its the best birthday experience I have ever had!
