A Candle for Grandma

My grandma who is 87, was just visiting us two weeks ago, she's so cute, fun, and loving. On Tuesday I received a phone call from my mom saying she was being taken to the hospital, she ended up needing an emergency surgery, or she would have passed away. She is still on a lot of morphine and only awake for short periods of time, she has an infection now, so today, in her honor, I am lighting a candle of hope for her.

Stay strong grandma, we love you.

  1. My grandmother is close to the same age and also not doing so well. It scares me but she's ready to go too (which doesn't help the fear but I can understand her point of view) It's hard for her because she just "wants to go home and not suffer anymore" (home is heaven for her) and at the same time we, selfishly maybe, want her to stay and be better.

Thanks for dropping by my blog, following you back,

  5. Thanks everyone! Grandma is doing better, she's sitting up and becoming herself again! She's pretty tough, last summer she got her hand stuck in the blades of a rotor tiller....that's my grandma for you!!! She really had us worried this time though.

  6. Praying for your Grandma. Sounds like she is a fighter. That is great she can do so many things at her age. She must have really taken care of herself through the years.

  7. Grandma took out her feeding tube the other day, said she's tired of it, what a feisty woman!
