My thoughts:

The Preacher's Bride is a book that made me fall in love with the characters right from the start, as well as make me a bit angry.  I simply cannot imagine living in the days of the Puritan's, I would not do well.  Elizabeth Whitbread has quite a tongue and is able to convince many to do as she wishes, such is the case in the care of a newborn, motherless child in desperate need of a wet-nurse.  The child is surely doing to die unless he receives milk and the Puritan women have strict beliefs in who can and cannot fulfill the needs of the child.  Elizabeth steps in and matters change, not only for the child but for his family as well!

Sacrificing the chance of marriage Elizabeth works for the Costin family, agreeing to marry at summer's end, but what of the Costin's who will care for them, and what of Elizabeth's feelings towards her intended? 

Soon life is turned upside down as a serious threat comes to play, not only against Elizabeth but to the family she has come to love.  The Puritan's have some pretty strong ideas and while reading I couldn't imagine living in such a time.  The elder's took it upon themselves to determine the well being of several characters which made me want to jump right into the book and speak my mind, thank goodness Elizabeth was in the book to help me out!

This was a very enjoyable read, a strong book, that really makes you realize how our faith can mold us and how sometimes people take their faith to new levels, levels that are not necessarily for the best, and can be quite harmful.  All in all this was a very enjoyable read!

I have been lucky enough to receive a box of Cowgirl Chocolates for review! Now these are some chocolates that you don't want to mess around with.

Head Cowgirl Marilyn Lysohir founded Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997. Her two favorite things in the world are art (she has a notable career as a ceramic sculptor) and chocolate. In fact her first job was working in a chocolate factory in Pennsylvania. Marilyn mingled some favorite memories with some new ideas to create an American original, Cowgirl Chocolates...chocolates with a spicy cowgirl kick. She was the pioneer, one of the first companies to offer spicy chocolates in the world.


Cowgirl Chocolates has won a total of 19 product awards and 2 packaging awards and is located in Moscow, Idaho USA. It has also been featured on the Food Network on “Unwrapped” and “Extreme Cuisine” and on CNBC “On the Money”. They have also been written up in the New York Times, InStyle, the Toronto Star among others.

I love how the chocolates came...wrapped up in a red box, tied with a black bow and a little cowboy boot charm....absolutely perfect!

The first chocolate I tried was the Spicy Raspberry Truffle, first you bite into tantalizing chocolate and reach a smooth raspberry filling, that in itself is most enjoyable, but then......you get a good kick in the throat, which makes it even more fun...and delicious and wanting more!  

My husband tried a caramel, it kicked him and kicked him hard....I guess he's more of a mild kind of guy!  Both of my kids tried the mild chocolates and loved them as well, but I'm sticking with the spicy!

I also tried the Double Chocolate spicy truffle....whoa, that really had a kick, I thought it was stronger than the raspberry but loved every minute of it!  My son, bit into a spicy chocolate and was quite surprised by the spice....all in all we loved these chocolates and I'm sure someone will be finding these in their gift pile this holiday season!

Author Bio:

Mebrahtom "Meb" Keflezighi and his family came to the United States after fleeing their native country of Eritrea to escape a violent war with Ethiopia. His unexpected athletic and academic successes earned him a full scholarship to UCLA, where he won four NCAA titles in one year and earned his B.A. in communication studies with a specialization in business. Meb is an Olympic silver medalist (Athens 2004) and a three-time national champion in cross country running (2001, 2002, and 2009). He came back from an injury to win the 2009 New York City Marathon, setting a personal best time of 2:09:15. Meb became a U.S. citizen in 1998. He lives in Mammoth Lakes, California, with his wife, Yordanos, and their three daughters, Sara, Fiyori and Yohana.

About the book: 
If this book doesn't inspire you to overcome and succeed I don't know what will!  Meb grew up in Eritrea, which I have never heard of until reading his book.

This book takes you from Meb's younger years when he lived in Eritrea, it is heartbreaking to read of the starvation and fear that people went through as Eritrea fought with Ethiopia.   Meb's father was able to leave the country and after several years sent for the family and they finally found a new home in America.

The family went through many struggles, learning the language, going to school, but yet they overcame, over and over again.  Meb has a strength that is not only physical but mental as well and reading his story is extremely encouraging.  Imagine coming from a place where people just don't run, to a place where people run for fun, Meb was simply amazed that American's just run, and fell in love with the sport!  Not only did he fall in love, but he overcame many obstacles and became a winner, in more ways than one.

This is an amazing story, everyone can achieve their dreams and I encourage you to read Meb's story and cheer him on as he continues his career in running!

Arriving in a small western town Kate encounters a man, a man that makes her heart race, and when she learns of ancient petroglyphs she accepts a ride from the very stranger that definitely stirred a reaction.  Suddenly Kate is at the petroglyphs,she hits her head and that's when everything seems to go a bit crazy.  Kate is smack dab in the middle of an all out Indian war, and abducted, hoping to wake from her dream she soon finds that she has traveled back in time.  The story gets more and more interesting as Kate lives with the very man who saved her from her abductor and that's where I'm going to leave you hanging....
