Book Review and Giveaway: Blind Hope, by Kim Meeder, and Laurie Sacher

Blind Hope: An Unwanted Dog and the Woman She Rescued

Blind Hope by Kim Meeder and Laurie Sacher is a book about An Unwanted Dog and the Woman She Rescued.  Are you a dog lover?  This book will work its way into your heart as you read about shattered dreams, broken people and an unlikely companion.

Laurie is working a new job at the Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch, a place for healing, only she needs healing as well.  Deciding to adopt a dog, Laurie drives to pick her up, upon arriving she finds Mia, a sick and sorry looking dog, what was she thinking?  Deciding to Mia home, Laurie finds herself on a journey that will help her find peace and love.  Mia is becoming blind and is very sick, as Laurie finds herself caring more and more for Mia she finds her heart opening up.

I love the conversations in the book between Laurie and her boss, Karen, they make the book very personal and real.  As I read this story I felt hope and happiness, the antics of Mia are so sweet that you can't help but laugh, and it's amazing to learn how this little dog overcomes her great troubles.

A very touching story that will tug at your heart and I have a copy to giveaway!  Read the details below!!

Book Review & Giveaway: Coached For Life, byEd Flaherty& Jack Uldrich

Coached For Life
*****CLOSED*****
The winner is Busy Working Mama!

Coached For Life by Authors Ed Flaherty and Jack Uldrich is a book that you can enjoy whether you're a sports fan or not!  This book takes you through the lives of the players who were on a Football team that won the State Championship in 1962.  The true stories show how the past 40 years of the players lives were profoundly affected by coach Flaherty and coach Uldrich.

We come across many coaches in our life, we certainly do not need to be in a sport to be coached, lessons we learn at a young age can shape who and what we become and we in turn can cause a great impact on other people's lives.  This book lets you see deep into the lives and thoughts of the players who were coached by Flaherty and Uldrich, these two men were not soft in their way of teaching and did what was needed to get their points across.  Missing an important game would happen if you screwed up, regardless of how good a player did the screwing up.  This is a great lesson to be learned, if you screw up you simply cannot expect your path to be the same as if you worked hard and did everything as expected.

I liked the lessons in this book as well as the stories, although after I was about 3/4 of the way through the book it became a bit tedious for me to read.  I think this is a book that I would prefer to read off and on instead of straight through.  Just a chapter here and there for encouragement and for a good story.  If you know anyone who is a coach, needs inspiration or is on a team, this would make a great gift!

*I was given a copy of this book for review as well as an additional copy for a give away.  I was not compensated in any other way for my honest review.  Thanks to The B&B Media Group for the complimentary copies.

Book Review: The Bishop, by Steven James

The Bishop (The Patrick Bowers Files, Book 4)
The Bishop, by Steven James is a non-stop thriller!  This is one of those books you hate to put down, something might happen while you're away!  This book is not for those who are squeamish or scare easily, but for those who love a good mystery.

FBI Agent Patrick Bowers take you on quite a journey, his skills as an agents are top-notch but when trying to solve the murder of a young woman he is stretched to the limit.  His wife recently passed-away, his step-daughter is on the verge of being snatched from him by her real father, what more can a man take?  There is nothing timid about this book as more and more gruesome details come to light.  What I loved about this book was that I did not find out the killers until the very end.  So many books are predictable, not this one....now I will anxiously await the next book!

*I was given a copy of this book to review from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, I was not compensated in any other way for my honest opinion.

Book Review: That's Where God Is, by dan & Ali Morrow

That's Where God Is

That's Where God Is, by Dan & Ali Morrow is a sweet little book for children.  I simply love this book.  A little boy is in search of God, his grandpa tells him to look for God for one week and then let him know where he found him.  As the little boy goes through his week he finds God everywhere he looks, this is a great message for children and a wonderful way for children to connect God to everyday events.

I can't wait to share this book with my nieces and nephews, and I can see lessons here, where you can read the book to children, then expand on it by asking children where they think they can find God.  The story also includes a bible verse on many of the pages which relates to the topic of the page.  The illustrations are cute and any child will be able to relate to them.

What a great gift idea!

*I was given this book for review, my opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any other way for this review.  Thank you B&B Media Group.
