As the skeletons are revealed Laurel's family history is played out, strengthening some bonds that should be left alone, and some that will never be broken.

This is a great read, I recommend this book, some very interesting twists and turns that keep the story fun!

Here's a story that will break your heart and make you wonder how much you really know about those around you. This is a story about a young girl who is so obviously lost that you want to reach out, grab her, and give her a hug, but at the same time shake some sense into her.

This book left me feeling haunted and cold. It was a good book and an eye opener of sorts, how much do we really know about those closest to us, how much do we want to know and how much do we need to know to keep those around us safe? I recommend this book, it contains quite a bit of sexual content.

Broken Birds is a book that shows the effects Nazi war camps had on people. Not just those who were at the camps, but future generations as well. Jeannette Katzir makes us think about our own relationships as she brings out the worst of sibling rivalry, how much is due to normal happenings, how much is due to her parent's survival of the Holocaust? Sometimes those who are broken can never be repaired, read this book and find out the consequences.

I had a hard time with this book, the beginning was very interesting and thought provoking as well as the ending. The middle felt as though it went on a little too long with the sibling problems which made the book lose it's feeling of a Holocaust survival story. The book left me wanting to learn more about the Germans and their refusal to acknowledge what happened to the Jews, and less about siblings who hate one another. I'm not sure that I would recommend this book to others just because of the drawn out middle.
